Awery Wins Fifth IATA ONE Record Hackathon

Awery Aviation Software, the company behind CargoBooking, has won the IATA ONE Record Hackathon for the fifth time, building Voyager, a real-time cargo monitoring tool, within 48 hours at the event hosted by Cathay Cargo and CHAMP Cargosystems in Hong Kong.

Voyager integrates with the ONE Record API to give a real-time operational view of shipment milestones, tackling the delays caused by fragmented data across airlines, handlers and forwarders — the same visibility challenge CargoBooking's track and trace tools address for freight forwarders every day.

"Winning the hackathon for the fifth time shows how quickly working solutions can be built when standards such as ONE Record are applied in practice," said Vitaly Smilianets, CEO, Awery. "The industry does not lack data, but it still struggles to use it in real time, and Voyager demonstrates how that gap can be closed operationally."

The winning team included Vitaly Smilianets, Serhii Radchenko, Yurii Bykov, Anton Khrystenko, Anna Balan (Head of CargoBooking), and Ivaylo Atanasov.

As a next step, Awery will develop an open-source PHP ONE Record server to make integration more accessible across the industry.
